In the late 1920s, businesses and factories began to close. People lost their jobs. Economic depression spread across the country and the world. This period in the 1930s became known as the Great Depression. The Great Depression effected people all across America. Families, business owners, children, mothers, and fathers. Banks closed. Oil companies lost money. People had little money to spend. The Great Depression was a global disaster and one of the worst America has ever experienced. The Great Depression was a time in history no American wants to relive.
